As an artist and designer, I am asking the audience to believe in the fantasy of the show and its underlying truth. Everyone must all work to effectively bring the audience into a new world and convey the story of the characters in it.  For those two hours, I endeavor to transport each individual to a place where they can set their worries aside. I reveal the world that has been created through the scenic elements and the characters that have been addressed with costumes. I help control the audience’s eyes, sometimes hiding the truth in plain sight. Lighting plays a key role in transporting the audience to the new place, and I am honored that I help in taking them there. I am truly drawn by the immense amount of collaboration it takes to draw out truth from the false world we create.
